To the theory of synchronization of multi-mode electron UHF-oscillators
Abstract
By the example of a gyromonotron, the specific features of the behavior of a two-mode UHF-oscillator with soft self-excitation in the presence of a synchronizing signal are clarified. When investigating the stability of the system regimes it is necessary to take into account: (1) mode position in the band of the active medium, (2) relative efficiency of interaction between an electron beam and fields with competing modes, and (3) reactive nonlinearity responsible for the frequency shift of a loaded oscillator. Under the specific conditions single-frequency (one and two mode) synchronized oscillations and two-frequency (one and two mode) oscillations are possible. Three-frequency equilibrium states are always unstable.
