The influence of ionospheric parameters on radio wave absorption in a ionospheric wave channel
Abstract
Absorption variations of a sliding mode in a ionospheric wave channel as a function of the parameters of E and F2 regions and interlayer ionization in the twilight zone are considered. It is shown that at 20 MHz and under the conditions considered, the absorption value at around-the-world path is 1.7-3.7 dB. The propagation of a sliding mode is found to be energetically more advantageous in the case of a deep trough.
