A six-fold generalization of ionospheric reciprocity
Abstract
The investigation reported is concerned with an extension of the concepts of ionospheric reciprocity from three-dimensional to n-dimensional space. It is found that propagation takes place in a stratified n-dimensional space and not merely in three-dimensional space. The second-order equations of the curl curl e-type are generalized appropriately into n dimensions. Generalization of the curl h-type of equation is introduced so as to express the second-order equations in first-order form. The electromagnetic susceptibility matrix for the ionosphere is generalized.
