Investigation of the accuracy of gyroscopic measuring devices
Abstract
A solution is presented to the problem of determining the dynamic accuracy of gyroscopic instruments. The solution is based on the so-called method of error coefficients described elsewhere (1967). Expressions are derived for the output signal of a gyroscopic goniometer with allowance for the inertia of the dampers involved, along with the dependence of this signal from the structural parameters of the device. The characteristics and potential of this investigation are illustrated by the example of a two-frame gyroscopic goniometer. A formula is derived which shows that such a device is well suited for measuring the angular acceleration of an object.
