An implantable pulsed Doppler ultrasonic blood flowmeter using custom integrated circuits
Abstract
The development and analysis are described of an implantable flowmeter, using the pulsed Doppler ultrasonic technique because of its low power consumption and the rich detail of the output data. The implanted electronics are fabricated using two custom monolithic integrated circuits, a timer/exciter and a receiver, allowing high performance to be achieved in a minimum of space, with low supply voltage, low power consumption, and high reliability.
