Positionsbestimmung von Sonnenflecken.
Abstract
Three methods of determining the positions of sunspots are described and compared: the image transit method, the direct recording method, and the photographic method. Results obtained by the three different techniques differ from each other by never less than one degree, and usually less than 0.5 degrees, in heliographic coordinates. Various diagrams of the coordinate systems used in the image transit and photographic procedures are presented, as well as a table of parallel data obtained by each of the three methods on six clear days in 1974. It is concluded that none of the methods is superior to both of the others.
