The effects of two-way reception on communications systems with pseudorandom phase-jump modulation
Abstract
Reflections at the ground and at certain layers in the atmosphere are responsible for the fact that the signal from the transmitter will arrive at the receiver, in many cases, by following different paths. This phenomenon produces disturbances in the transmission of the information. An investigation is conducted concerning the significance of the disturbing effects in the case of such a two-way reception. The direct and the indirect signal are considered and the results of a computation concerning the values of the various parameters are presented. Attention is given to the elimination of a part of the disturbance with the aid of a filter.
