Radiation in the case of a flanged waveguide with a dielectric plug
Abstract
The investigation makes use of an approach reported by Reisdorf and Schminke (1973) who employed a method of orthogonal expansion. Numerical results are presented for selected examples. A computation is conducted of the radiation from a flanged waveguide into a dielectric half-space, giving attention to the incidence of a TEM wave. Effects of a dielectric plug are studied. Data concerning the characteristics of the reflection factor of the TEM wave in relation to various parameters are shown in a number of graphs.
