Methods for solving nonlinear heat conduction problems
Abstract
Approximate analytical and numerical methods are proposed for solving nonlinear heat-transfer, mass-transfer, and diffusion problems. Variational, integral, and iteration methods are discussed, along with methods of reducing the nonlinear steady heat equation to other, more amenable forms. Computer-aided net-point methods and methods of straight lines, as well as linearization methods are described. The application of each method is demonstrated by examples.
