Statistics of three-body experiments: probability of escape and capture
Abstract
The probability of escape and capture in the gravitational three-body problem has been studied using a large number of numerical orbit calculations. The values of the masses are found to be the most important parameters in both processes. The occurrence of the minimum triple configurations, and their effect on the escape, has also been studied.
