A solid-state amplifier for satellite communications
Abstract
A high-gain driver amplifier, developed for the down-link chain of a satellite communications transponder, is considered. A description of the amplifier design is presented, giving particular attention to techniques which have been employed to obtain maximum performance in the key areas of carrier to intermodulation ratio, group-delay ripple, and stable small-signal gain. Detailed performance characteristics are displayed with the aid of measured test data plots of critical parameters.
