Radio-wave scattering in a plane linear layer
Abstract
The ray equation is solved by the perturbation method for a plane-stratified linear model of the ionosphere. Second-order moments of the direction of a radio wave's emergence from the ionosphere are calculated by computer on the basis of the first-approximation solution for isometric and anisometric random Gaussian inhomogeneities. The functional relationship of these moments with mean geomagnetic latitude and the azimuth of a radio-wave path is established.
