Noise immunity of continuous communication systems
Abstract
The fundamentals of statistical synthesis and noise immunity theory are outlined for analog (FM-, PM-, PAM/FM-, and PPM/AM-modulated) and digital wide-band continuous communication systems in the presence of strong and weak fluctuation noise. Formulas, graphs, and tables are presented, using which the optimal parameters (such as bandwidth and threshold SNR) of such systems can be determined as a function of the type of receiver and the transmission parameters. A comparative evaluation of some typical systems with respect to the frequency band, information parameters, and threshold characteristics is given.
