Fundamentals of heat transfer in aviation and space rocket engineering
Abstract
Domestic and foreign heat-transfer data pertaining to aviation and rocket engineering are reviewed. Some aspects of heat transfer at high velocities and at high flow temperatures are examined, along with the various surface shielding techniques currently used. The fundamentals of convective heat transfer theory and similarity theory are outlined, along with the characteristics of heat transfer under conditions of free gravitational convection, of convective heat transfer in channels, of heat transfer under unsteady conditions, and of radiative heat transfer. Characteristics of laminar and turbulent heat transfer at high velocities and gas temperatures are analyzed, along with heat transfer in the presence of chemical reactions in the boundary layer, heat transfer at rough surfaces and at flow separation zones, and heat transfer in rarefied gases.
