Numerical experiment in gas dynamics
Abstract
A series of numerical algorithms have been developed which make it possible to investigate a wide class of complex gasdynamics phenomena. Use is made of an approach in which a simulated medium is replaced by a system of particles which at the beginning are distributed in the cells of a net in coordinate space in accordance with the initial data. Attention is given to the calculation of compressible and incompressible viscous gas flows, the numerical integration in the case of the conservation equations, and the solution of a problem involving the structure of a direct shock in a gas consisting of elastic spherical particles.
