The use of properties of pseudo-equivalent systems in calculation of astronomical optics.
Abstract
The fundamental properties of pseudoequivalent optical systems are examined, and their use in calculations for thin optical lenses located a small distance from each other is discussed. A method for determining the elements of a new system from their use in calculations of an initial system is given. Systems of thick lenses are also studied. A method for determining the elements of concentric pseudoequivalent systems is examined. Those results may be used for calculations of telescope objectives, spectrograph collimators, and aberration compensators.
