Engineering calculation of the operating anode voltage range and dynamic characteristics of an amplitron
Abstract
Based on previously obtained relations for determining the HF voltage amplitude and output power of an amplitron, a method is proposed for calculating the range of anode voltages within which synchronism between the electronic spokes and the HF field is assured. The mean HF field value in a moderating system is determined for the transit time of an electronic spoke. The dependence of output power on anode voltage is computed, and the results are compared with experimental findings for three devices. It is shown that the maximum error in determining the operating anode voltage range and output power does not exceed 10%.
