Experimental investigation of heat- and mass-transfer processes in a cryogenic heat pipe
Abstract
The characteristics of the operation of a heat pipe employing nitrogen as the working fluid are studied experimentally. Particular attention is given to the porosity characteristics of wicks of several type, showing that the best characteristics are exhibited by a wick prepared from sintered bronze powder with a mean particle diameter of 0.18 mm. The experimental results are analyzed.
