Device physics of a new TRAPATT oscillator
Abstract
An investigation has been conducted of a new TRAPATT circuit design. The investigation included a computer-simulation study and experimental tests involving an acutal circuit. The characteristics of the new circuit design make it possible to obtain TRAPATT action at a relatively low current. The computer simulations show that a relatively simple circuit can produce two types of voltage waveforms for TRAPATT action.
