A new technique for feeding a cylindrical array
Abstract
A description is given of a simplified matrix technique for feeding a cylindrical array for full circumferential coverage. The new technique has the capacity for a superior control of pattern parameters. Its characteristics include low insertion loss, simple hardware realization, and a relatively high tolerance to excitation errors. An 8-element quadrant was used to demonstrate the usefulness of the technique and to verify analytical results.
