The effect of solid plates on Kelvin-Helmholtz instabilities
Abstract
Small perturbations of a flow are considered, taking into account a case in which the x-axis consists partly of vortex sheets and partly of solid plates. The flow can be described by two analytical functions. An investigation is conducted of a single vortex and a vortex sheet. Another investigation is conducted of an example that involves the flow of a discontinuity surface into a duct which is located symmetrically to the surface.
