The problem of the computer-aided design of electrical networks in the frequency domain is described as a nonlinear optimization problem. The solution of this problem is performed with standard optimization algorithms. Special attention is given to a discussion of analysis algorithms especially suited for network optimization. The capability of the developed design programs is demonstrated by several examples.
