Spectral investigations of carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere at heights up to 32 km
Abstract
Spectral investigations of the CO2 content in the atmosphere, up to 32 km, were performed from 1969 to 1970. The procedures, equipment, and results of these investigations are described. Measurements were taken with an automatic stratostatic spectrometer of high-resolution, and the concentration of CO2 was determined by the integral absorption in the 2.01 micron band. The altitude profile of the ratio of CO2 partial pressure to the atmospheric pressure is illustrated from 5 to 32 km.
