Spin detonation of gases in a cylindrical chamber
Abstract
An experiment is designed to investigate the steady combustion of a fuel gas mixture in a transverse detonation wave which propagates spinwise behind a primary shock wave. The spin detonation of methane-oxygen and acetylene-oxygen mixtures in a cylindrical combustion chamber is visualized photographically.
