Stimulated Raman scattering in high pressure nitrogen excited by picosecond pulses; threshold pressure dependence
Abstract
The threshold of stimulated Raman scattering in nitrogen has been studied experimentally in the interval 50-350 amaga under excitation of a picosecond pulse train. The results show that this threshold does not depend on the half-width of the Q-branch, in accordance with Akmanov's theory for SRS gain in the transient case.
