Wavelength dependence of polarization. XXVIII. Circumstellar scattering: polarization and reddening models.
Abstract
Results of calculations of the polarization and reddening produced by circumstellar scattering envelopes are presented. Models are given for scattering by spherical silicate, graphite, and iron grains and by the hydrogen molecule. Various geometries, density distributions, and particle size distributions are included. The following paper contains a comparison of the results of this paper with observation.
