Radiation from inhomogeneous dusty Strömgren spheres.
Abstract
The characteristic behavior of the center-to-limb variation and the integrated spectrum of dusty Stroemgren spheres is discussed on the basis of simplified models with constant gas-to-dust ratios. It is assumed that the ionization of the gas and the heating of the dust is due to a central star (of type O 6 V). The density distribution is assumed to be Gaussian. The spectral region considered, ranges from radio frequencies to the near infrared (to about 0.8 micron), including the region in which internal dust absorption becomes important.
