Theory of isotropic turbulence and its comparison with experiment
Abstract
The complete solution to the problem of the decay of the uniform and isotropic turbulent motions of a viscous, incompressible fluid, found by Sedov (1944), is given in a form which allows convenient comparison with experiment. It is shown that this solution agrees well with experimental data on the decay of turbulent motions in air and water behind a grid.
