Crystal and surface technology for extreme laser application requirements
Abstract
The growth of the acousto-optical material tellurium dioxide was developed by the Czochralski technique; the frequency doubler cadmium-mercury-thiocyanate was grown in gel and in solution. Crystal materials for high neodymium doping were prepared and investigated for fluorescence. New polishing techniques and a bonding procedure were developed, and resonant reflectors were built. The theory of dielectric multilayers was extended, and antireflection, high-reflectance, and protective layer systems were designed with the aid of a computer and investigated by new measuring methods.
