Output energy optimization of a dye laser
Abstract
The efficiency of the Rhodamine 6C dye laser is theoretically investigated in the special case of intense flashlamp excitation. A serious limitation of the energy and of the pulse repetition rate of dye lasers pumped with coaxial flashlamps is given by the ultrasonic wave initiated by the electric discharge and which propagates through the dye cell during laser emission.
