Telephotometers, and their principles of operation in space
Abstract
The design and schematic diagram of the onboard TF-3A and TF-3B telephotometers of Cosmos 320 are discussed. The instruments were used to measure simultaneously the quantitative characteristics of the reflected solar radiation in several intervals within the 0.7 to 1.05 micron spectral range. The mode of operation and the principal subsystems of the telephotometers are examined, and the errors in the measurement of the absolute brightness of the earth are assessed.
