The Measurement and Analysis of Photographic Images
Abstract
Problems encountered in attempts to derive quantitative results from two-dimensional microdensitometer scan data are discussed. Attention is focused on the role of microdensitometer optical nonlinearities depending on the physical characteristics of both the measuring beam and sample. The need for economy in practical measurement and reduction procedures is stressed.
