Low cost diode phase shifter development
Abstract
A breadboard was operated over a 10% bandwidth centered at 3.5 GHz with 100 MW of CW power. It gave 0 degrees to 360 degrees plus or minus 10 degrees RMS of phase shift in four bits. The insertion loss was 3 to 4 db and must be reduced to about 1 db for system application. The phase shift changed only plus or minus 2 degrees for a plus or minus 10% control voltage change. The maximum bias power was 33 microwatts.
