Calculation of missile vibrations
Abstract
The finite element method incorporating an atmospheric turbulence model and a structural model is used to analyze the vibration characteristics of missiles. The goal of the study is to develop a sufficiently precise computational scheme which is not too complex and can be implemented rapidly without difficult programming. The method is applied to random vibrations excited by gust loads and is used to analyze the dynamic response of the Saturn 5 launch vehicle.
