Output feedback control of launchers
Abstract
The present work examines some methods for determining control laws for a typical launch vehicle. Control laws obtained by parametric optimization methods insure good responses, minimum attitude error, and control of the drift rate. But parametric methods demand long computer time and become somewhat imprecise when the number of parameters is greater than four or five. Therefore, methods for obtaining a closed loop linear dynamic compensator are investigated. An optimal compensator is derived for a quadratic criterion. For modal control, the characteristic equation of the closed loop system is imposed, and the closed loop poles are set.
