Heat transfer and stability of a phase-changing interface of gas and liquid laminar flows
Abstract
A theoretical study is made of steady and perturbed laminar boundary-layer flows of gas and liquid having a phase-changing interface at their common boundary. By solving numerically first the set of steady equations of the system and then their perturbation, the features of the flow and thermal fields and the incidental hydrodynamic instabilities are investigated. It is shown that the phase-change at the interface has a considerable effect on the fields of velocity and temperature and on their hydrodynamic instabilities.
