Effects of meridional winds on the interpretation of satellite inclination data
Abstract
Recent observations of changes in inclinations of artificial satellites have been interpreted in terms of variations of thermospheric zonal winds with local time. It is suggested that meridional winds may have a pronounced effect on satellite inclinations, so that both wind components should be considered in this type of analysis.
