Galvanic corrosion test cell for series investigations
Abstract
The design of a standard test cell for the determination of potential-current density curves in corrosion studies is described. It is pointed out that in general the experimental data will also be affected by details of test conditions concerning the positioning of the specimen and the distance of the tip of the reference electrode from the specimen surface. A general use of the described cell as a standard device is proposed as a means to obtain comparable data in corrosion investigations. The cell design is suited for a rapid exchange of test specimen and electrolyte in series investigations.
