Acousto-electro-optic image scanning
Abstract
An acoustic image scanner using surface waves on YZ-cut LiNbO3 at 75 MHz is demonstrated. The underlying theoretical background is first described and the main features of the theory are experimentally verified. The capability of the image scanner is demonstrated in several ways and the saturation by overexposure is avoided by a sampled-scan method. The number of resolvable spots is 150 for a line of 30 mm length. An optically programmable waveform generator is also described.
