Stimulated Raman scattering by polaritons in a confocal cavity resonator at the Stokes frequency
Abstract
A theory is developed for steady stimulated Raman scattering of light by polaritons in a confocal cavity at the Stokes frequency, in the case of a traveling pumping wave and a traveling polariton wave, for conditions of strong absorption in the polariton region. Expressions defining the value of the threshold pumping energy are derived. The energy flux of the Stokes wave from the cavity is determined, along with the law that governs the decrease in the energy flux of the pumping wave during the passage of the wave through a nonlinear crystal.
