Recovery factors for a laminar boundary layer
Abstract
On the basis of equations of motion and energy for a steady, two-dimensional laminar boundary layer with constant physical properties, a recovery function is obtained, whose value at the wall, in the adiabatic case, becomes that of the recovery factor. In the case of 'similar currents' the recovery factor can be calculated by values of the Prandtl number between 0 and 1000. Numerical values and asymptotic expressions are presented for the recovery factor.
