Design of power transformers having SIFERRIT cores in the case of sinusoidal control
Abstract
The maximum power which can be transmitted by transformers with ferrite cores is calculated on the basis of measured values and data lists. For transformers with pot cores and E cores made of SIFERRIT T26 the optimum design can be obtained immediately from diagrams, an excess temperature of 60 K and cooling by free convection in air being assumed. The power which can be transmitted increases in the frequency range up to 100 kHz with increasing frequency, and for pot coils of 9 to 70 mm diam. it reaches maximum values of 10 W to 2.5 kW. Measurements on random samples give good agreement with the given values.
