Growth and investigation of niobate single crystals for the modulation of laser light
Abstract
Single crystals of Ba2LiNb5015 were grown by the Czochralsky technique for use in frequency doubling of YAG laser light in an optical data storage system. Transmission, phase matching data, nonlinear optical coefficient, and resistivity to optical damage were measured on appropriate samples. The system BaO-Li20 Nb205 was studied by means of differential thermal analysis and unknown subsystems were detected.
