Bulk strip production of an amorphous Cu-Zr alloy by plasma arc spraying
Abstract
The background and design of a plasma spray unit with a rotary copper substrate and contained in an inert gas chamber is described. This unit is capable of producing amorphous alloys as strip of = 30 mil thickness in bulk quantities at rates of 15 g/min, as demonstrated by the retention of amorphous Cu.60Zr.40.
