Calculating the effect of higher space-charge modes on the parameters of a drift-tube klystron
Abstract
A two-dimensional model is used to investigate electron bunching in the small-signal regime in a drift-tube klystron. Higher space-charge modes are found to have a significant effect on the gain and frequency characteristics of the klystron. The effect can be taken into account by introducing correction factors into equations obtained in a one-dimensional approximation.
