The computation of the free convection with internal heat sources
Abstract
The investigation reported is concerned with a numerical solution of the Navier-Stokes equation and the energy equation for the calculation of the thermal and hydrodynamical relations in the case of a free convection in closed spaces. The procedure used in the approximation of the convection part of the differential equations is discussed, taking into account the derivation of the difference equations, a stability analysis, the reduction of the phase error according to the Fromm method, and the study of a conservative difference scheme. The approximation of the diffusion part of the differential equations is also described along with the approximation for the stream function and the approximation of the boundary conditions.
