Influence of environment conditions on a quartz resonator
Abstract
The quartz resonator is studied either by itself, as a passive element placed in a transmitting circuit, or installed in an oscillator, as in its usual conditions of use. Accelerations to which resonators were subjected were steady, sinusoidal, or random. The acceleration orientation relative to the quartz crystallographic axes, as well as its direction, are of prime importance. The same tests were performed on oscillators containing the resonators previously studied. The results confirm the role of the resonator in the stability degradation of the quartz oscillator subjected to external perturbations.
