Ballistic missile and spacecraft control
Abstract
The present work reviews the basic mathematical relations in ballistic missile and satellite kinematics, and then examines some of the chief approaches and systems used in the control of such vehicles. For ballistic missiles, the following topics are considered: trajectory characteristics, accuracy of falling on target, scatter, and flight control. The main characteristics of orbital motion are described for satellites. Sections are included on coding and transmission of commands, noise in command transmission, coding and decoding devices, and reliability of command data.
