Techniques for calculating emission electro-optical systems
Abstract
Properties of emission electro-optical systems (those utilizing an electron flux emitted by a cathode within the system) are described together with the scope of their application. Mathematical and technical problems arising in the calculation of such systems are analyzed as well as ways to surmount them with the aid of computers. Exact computer algorithms for these calculations are presented, and approximation techniques suitable for research are examined. Major topics include calculation of potential fields and analysis of systems incorporating cathode lenses. Numerous examples of practical interest are given.
