Pulsed stimulated emission due to vibrational transitions in the carbon monoxide molecule
Abstract
Investigation of pulsed laser action due to vibrational transitions of the electronic-ground-state CO molecule in a discharge of pure CO as well as in mixtures of CO with helium, argon, and xenon. Results showed that the emission properties in vibrational transitions of CO at excited pulse discharge essentially depended on the make-up of the mixture. Different mechanisms of population inversion at lasing levels were created in the mixtures under investigation.
